The First Bonfire Celebration – Tuesday 31st January – 4pm till late – the Red Lion, Lindfield High Street
To mark the origins of our annual Bonfire tradition, Lindfield Bonfire Society is holding a celebration in The Red Lion pub in the High Street. The event starts at 4pm with a book sale and later in the evening there will be a performance by Skull Drummery.
The 31st January will be the 411th anniversary of the first bonfire with an effigy of Guy Fawkes on it, lit by King James 1st after the execution of Guy Fawkes and plotters Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwood and Robert Keyes.
Come along to learn more about the Society and to hear the amazing Bonfire Drummers.
