First Bonfire Celebration – Thursday 30th January – 7.30 p.m. ’til late – the Red Lion, High Street Lindfield
To mark the origins of our annual Bonfire tradition, Lindfield Bonfire Society is holding a celebration in The Red Lion pub in the High Street. We will start gathering for the event from 7.00 pm and have a performance by Skull Drummery at 7.30 (approx).
Our event marks the 414th anniversary of the first bonfire with an effigy of Guy Fawkes on it, lit by King James 1st after the execution of Guy Fawkes and plotters Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwood and Robert Keyes on the 31st January 1606.
