Thankyou to all for a fantastic Bonfire Night

Lindfield Bonfire Society wishes to say thankyou to everyone who attended our 4th November Celebration. We were delighted to be joined in our procession by members of Chailey and Burgess Hill Bonfire Societies, Burgess Hill Marching Youth & the Lindfield Scouts.

Despite the rain earlier in the day, there was a huge turnout for our night & we hope our collection will reflect this. The King Edward Hall was filled to capacity for our fancy dress competition, and the streets of Lindfield and the Common were full during the torch lit procession, Bonfire Prayer & lighting of the bonfire before the skies were lit by our Grand Firework display. We thank everyone for the many positive comments on our night.

A huge number of people and organisations make the night possible, and the Committee of Lindfield Bonfire Society wish to say thanks to everyone, in particular:

Comber’s Trust, Cottenham’s of Lindfield – Craft Butchers (sponsors for the Guy), The Red Cross, Sussex Police, West Sussex Fire & Rescue Services, The Rotary Club, Court Meadow RDA, Kangaroos, Lindfield Parish Council, Mid-Sussex District Council, SERCO, 6-10 Traffic Management, Etc. Fire Services, Lindfield Art Studio, Trident Explorer Scouts, Lindfield Scouts, The King Edward Hall, Siamax Power Ltd and Aurora Fireworks.

We also thank this years sponsors; Lindfield Life, The Bent Arms, Sarah Lacey Drycleaning, Mark Revill & Co, Haywards Heath Landscapes Ltd, Andy Hannah Mobile Mechanic Ltd, Sussex B&B (The Pilstyes – Lindfield), Sussex Trichology, Shaz Sews for You, RTFJ, Lindfield Motors, Green & Pleasant Services, S.A. Hancock Ltd, Penny Black Barbers, The Standup Inn, The Red Lion, and those local traders and shops who’ve kindly sold programmes and merchandise for us.

Last but not least, thankyou to our Tail End Charlie team, the pyro teams of Lindfield and Chailey Bonfire Societies, the many volunteers who helped set up during the day, assist with the collection & marshalling on the night, those who help clear up after our event and count the collection…and finally all the Lindfield Bonfire Boys and Girls.

We apologise if we missed anyone, but there are so many members of the community that help make our night happen!

Comber’s Trust

We are very grateful to the Comber’s Trust for their  generous donation they have made to us to support this year’s event.

For those not familiar with the work of this local charity…

At a time when poverty and deprivation were very much present in Lindfield, Comber’s Trust was formed by individuals who cared enough to help.
Comber’s Trust continues – a local charity helping to support anyone living in Lindfield and in need, hardship or distress.
Comber’s can help make a difference to groups as well as individuals.
The trustees want to raise awareness of Comber’s Trust, and also to encourage Lindfield residents to give to the Trust for the benefit of others in need.
If you would like to make a donation, or would just like to know more, please contact the Hon. Secretary Caroline Brann on 01444 417443.
